Senior Software Development Engineer - Tech Lead

The company is a fintech licensed by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) as an Electronic Money Institution operating across the WAEMU zone, building secure, scalable and accessible payment and digital banking solutions for individuals, merchants and businesses. Its platform covers payment aggregation, merchant acceptance (physical and virtual POS), integration with the BCEAO interoperable instant payment system (PI-SPI), mobile money and card payments, prepaid cards and cross-border remittances. - Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field - 5+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role - Strong experience in fintech, banking, mobile money or payment systems - Expertise in software architecture, APIs, cloud technologies and DevOps - Professional fluency in French and English (written and spoken) Technical leadership: lead, mentor and grow the development team; set engineering standards and best practices; drive Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban); work closely with product, operations, finance and compliance teams. Architecture and development: design and build secure, scalable cloud-native services; develop core payment platform components (e-wallet, ledger, payment orchestration, etc.); build robust APIs and contribute to web and mobile applications. Payment systems and integrations: lead integrations with BCEAO PI-SPI, mobile money operators, card networks and banks; build merchant acceptance solutions (POS, payment links, QR); ensure transaction integrity, reconciliation and dispute handling. Reliability, DevOps and operations (SRE): manage cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and containerisation; define SLIs/SLOs, monitoring and alerting; manage production incidents and contribute to BCP/DRP. Security, compliance and data: implement security best practices (OWASP, IAM, encryption); ensure compliance with BCEAO, PCI DSS and data protection laws; integrate AML/CFT controls (KYC/KYB, monitoring).
